- A home or work computer equipped with at least a 56 Kbps modem and Internet access is required. A 384 Kbps connection is strongly encouraged for Web video.
- Software requirements: Internet Explorer 5.0 or greater, or the most recent versions of Firefox or Safari. Windows Media Player is also needed (download for free). For more detailed information on streaming video requirements, see EDGE.
- Computers five years old or newer should have sufficient memory, operating system configurations and monitor resolutions appropriate for this program.
- Some courses may use additional software, which will be noted in the course descriptions each quarter. Examples include MATLAB, Maple, etc. Applied Math and EDGE students are eligible for student versions of these packages from the UW Bookstore.
