The new online Master of Science in Applied Mathematics, now offered by the highly ranked UW Department of Applied Mathematics, provides a convenient way for working professionals to earn an advanced degree that will give them greater breadth and depth in applied mathematics and complement their current area of expertise.
The only difference between the campus and online programs is that as a student in the online program, you'll be able to take classes anytime, from anywhere. The curriculum and instructors are identical for campus and online courses, so you'll earn the same degree and have access to the same UW faculty as on-campus students.
The online program is offered using the technology of Education at a Distance for Growth and Excellence (EDGE). Through EDGE, on-campus courses are streamed on the Web and recorded for videotape and CD-ROM. You can choose one of these three methods to take your class.
You can complete the new online Master's in Applied Mathematics in one year of full-time study. Alternately, you can enroll part-time to accommodate your busy schedule. Courses follow the standard academic calendar, and students are admitted three times a year (in Autumn, Winter and Spring quarters). For more information, see Application Deadlines.
